The Rules aim to provide the SLCC with control over the procedure for resolution, so far as the Legal Profession and Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 2007 allows, and should be read in conjunction with the Act. The Rules are necessarily formal as they require to be precise.
They form a framework under which the SLCC can develop a process that will allow it to work within its aims of dealing with disputes objectively, facilitating early resolution and acting proportionately by applying the correct mix of legal and lay skills.
The Rules of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission 2008 (and the annexed Conduct and Service Complaint Form and Handling Complaint Form) are available to view. To do so you will need a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader, which is available freefor a range of operating systems from the Adobe.
